Vehicle Description
This 1962 Corvette is a two owner car that I have owned for the last fourteen years. I purchased the car from the original owner who bought it new in Kansas City. This is a number matching two top Corvette that is Honduras Maroon with black interior and black convertible soft top. The motor is a 327 300hp, #3872870, pad #2107152, t0208r11, with original 4 speed transmission and shifter, positraction rear axel and white wall tires. The NCRS pocket book list the following production numbers 14531 cars built, 5050 with 4 speeds and the 300 hp motor and 4727 with black soft tops. The paper work that goes with this car makes it very unique! A copy of the original title showing car was sold new to the person I purchased the car from, original owners manual, paper sleeve for the manual, owners protection book, instructions for radio and clock and original sales brochure. This paper work is very hard to find and makes this car a great investment that will only go up in value.

I started restoring the car in 1997 but will not be able to complete the job. I took a job out side the area and have not had time to work on the car due to my long work hours and commute, for this reason I have decided to sell the car. There is still a lot of work that needs to be done to finish this project, but the most expensive and time consuming part of it is completed. If you have been looking for a 1962 corvette project that is an original car with great investment potential you have found it.

Vehicle Condition
I started restoring it in 1997, at that time, I did a lot of the mechanical work which included rebuilding the motor, the front suspension, replacing the brake lines, rebuilding the brakes system, replacing the rear axel bearing, removing the steering column to reseal it and removing the front cross member to rebuild the suspension and repainted the front part of the frame. The frame is very good with no rust damage. I drove the car about 1500 miles during the next two years to make sure the mechanical issues were corrected before doing any body or paint work.

In 1999 I removed all the exterior chrome and the interior of the car to have the body stripped and repainted. At this time, I found out the car had prior body repairs to the front end and in the rear deck panel. The stress cracks and prior body damage were repaired and the car was repainted the original color. The body and paint work took over two years to complete and looks very good. I worked on the car for the next year replacing the dash and reassembling the car to the point that you see in the pictures. The car has been setting on jack stands in my garage under a car cover.

There is still a lot of work that needs to be done to finish this project, but I have done the most expensive and time consuming part of it. The car has the original motor, transmission, shifter, carburator, distributor, generator, wheels, radiator with the Harrison radiator tag, original hard top and convertible top, original gauges and instrument cluster. The following items are a partial list of items needed to finish this restoration, hub caps, door panels, front and rear bumpers, side cove moldings and radio, along with other interior and exterior trim items. There are other items needed to complete the car that are not listed. The pictures should give you a good idea of the job that you will be under taking. I have described the car the best I can to let you know what it will take to finish this restoration, remember this car is 42 years old. If you have any question you need to contact me before you bid and please dont bid if you are not a serious buyer.
