Car history: |
From sale advertisement: "...in need of restoration, 85% to 90% complete. Also includes after market hard top, have done in time for 50th Anniversary and double in price. $45,000."
2-23-2003: From the owner: "Car was built in late Nov 53. One of first cars to have a press molded front end. Steel molds were ready in Nov 53. K 13 3 block. Rear fender wells have a 90 degree lip (ledge). Front lower valance has a wide (app. 1in.) lip for the front part of the fender well as only a few did between 235 and 261. Correct EX 179 trunk hinges.
"Unique feature (converation piece) = The hood actually has 1953 Buick fender oval ports positioned like the Wildcat show car of 1952-1953. All paint jobs on car show that these ports were there from the beginning. Did the first buyer or celebrity want something different?? I have two hoods. One stock and the original with the ports.
"Car sat for nearly 30 years before I acquired it for restoration. Call if you need info on your car or if you just want to talk 53's."
12-05-2003: From the owner: "Current mileage: 68,000. #245 is now fully restored with all numbers and date codes correct. Completed November, 2003. Participated in Corvettes at Carlisle 2003. All owner documentation is complete back to the original owner. Michigan car all its life until Brett Henderson purchased in 2001."
