This car was not sold new until 1956.Actually was at a dealership for almost two years. As the experts know these cars almost never saw the production in 1956. The 55 were fewer with the V-8 and this brought the interest to these cars. GM at that point felt an obligation to compete with the new Ford Thunderbirds. Corvette owners today can than Ford for their efforts on their 55-57 T-Bird. If it was not for the competitive spirit at GM Corvettes would not exist today. Frame Off restored in 1980 driven 3,000 miles since. |

Car history: |
Bought recently August 3, 2013 from owner that owned the car for 42 years (1971). In 1980 this car had a frame off restoration. Today the car has an appearance of a excellent survivor. The car is showing slight wear of a car with a 33 year old restoration. It has that survivor appearance. Some of the chrome is not show but very presentable. The car's interior is all there and is not missing a single part. TOTALLY original. This car even has the rare side windows which few of even the high dollar restored cars are missing. These side windows are priceless. |
