Car history: |
A GREAT OPPORTUNITY This car is a 1958 red Corvette with white coves and a red & white interior. The Corvette was recently pulled out of a garage in Pennsylvania where it has been sitting covered since 1985. The current owner purchased the vehicle (which had 65,000 miles at that time) from the original owner in 1966. The car was driven on a daily basis until 1969 and after that on an occasional biweekly or monthly basis until 1985. The Corvette has not moved since 1985 and has not been started in the last 15 years. The owner was in the military, left the vehicle in the Pennsylvania garage while he completed his twenty years in the service, and subsequently moved to the Midwest nine years ago.
The body is in good shape and the car (painted red & white about 1972) has a few paint chips. The chrome is present but some items need replating or replaced. The interior has red & white seats (upholstered in 1972) primarily in need of cleaning. The soft top has shrunk and will likely need replacing. There is no hard top. There are four new tires, the four original hubcaps, the original dash & gauges, and a wonderbar radio (in need of repair). The passenger door is a replacement door from a later model Corvette. Other mechanical work (draining/changing the oil; bleeding/ fixing the brakes; flushing the cooling system; repairing/replacing the gas tank, etc.) will be required due to the years of inactivity. There has been no effort to start the vehicle. However, the lights worked when a new battery was placed in the vehicle. A GREAT PROJECT CAR OR A DAILY DRIVER WITH SOME WORK !!!
