You are about to view one of the finest 1961 Corvettes in the country. It is Roman Red with matching red interior and white coves. It also sports original style wide white wall tires and original knock-off style hub caps. If you ever intend on restoring a 61 corvette you may want to save the following photos. This is truly a benchmark car, a time capsule never before seen. It was just made available to the public, it is straight out of a private collection. A true survivor. This is a fully documented 61 Corvette HARD TOP ONLY car. It features the optional 283/270hp, 2X4 solid lifter motor, correct 519 casting that has never been apart or out of the car, featuring the original Duntov cam. It is a true 33,000 mile car, documented with odometer statements. It has the original sales invoice, and original owners manual, and complete owner history (3 owner car.) The car still wears its mostly original paint (approximately 75%), super T-10 matching# 4spd and optional posi-traction rear end. The exhaust system is new. It has the original WONDERBAR RADIO, and original T-3 headlamps. It is a completely unhit body, possessing all of its original body panels and bonding strips. Every single part of the car is original, including the starter, generator, and distributor. The hard top still wears its original paint, and is original to the car, even the original spare tire. Every single thing works on the car. The car runs and drives like a new car on SLIVERTON reproduction bias ply tires. All the glass is original to the car except the windshield. It has never been apart or off the frame, with original ball joints and universals. All chrome and trim are all original and in excellent condition. Look closely at the engine serial# photo, for this is absolutely original with broach marks present on the CU suffix block. The serial# is present, NOT A RE-STAMP! The transmission and drivetrain are all original to the car. The engine compartment and interior have been freshened up to NCRS standards by AL KNOCH. The original paint is evident on the oil pan and block. The sound of the Duntov solid lifter cam is music to your ears. Even the interior lights function properly.
