Engine details: Original 283 cubic inch engine was rebuilt many years ago. After running it into the ground, I replaced it with a 307 cubic inch engine that I got at an auto junk yard. I will be replacing it with a later model 327 cubic inch when I reach that point of the rebuilding project.

Car history:
I purchased the car new from a dealer in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. It was my major form of transportation until 1975 when the family started to become larger than a sports car could handle. We purchased a second car for major transportation but I used the Corvette for my trips to work etc. In late 1975 we moved to South Carolina and I towed the Corvette here. I used it for a few years here in SC before putting it into storage while we built our home to re-settle in this area. A couple of years ago we visited the Corvette plant and museum in Kentucky. After seeing those cars I told the wifi I had to get ours back looking good and on the road again. I had built a working garage up behind our home where I could piddle on the project car as I found time. When the time came to move the car from its storage place in the garage in the house to the new one up the hill out back, I managed to get it running with a new battery, fuel pump, oil filter and little bit of tune up. The tags and inspection sticker were for 1978 so the car hadn't been cranked or started for over 25 years but I drove it up to its new location. As best as I can remember this car has well over 500,000 miles on it. It will require a little body work, carpets, upolstry, a new top and a paint job before I hit the road but it will be out in public again.
