| Engine details: |
Car was born with a 245hp engine and converted to fuel injection in 1963. The first fuel unit to be installed was a “MX” (Serial# 38) unit from Chevrolet’s CEC fuel calibration lab and later replaced with a 4800 unit, which still runs strong today. |
| Other details: |
Car was originally purchased by Carl Baab, Canton, Ohio, Second Owner Richard L. Spies, Canton, Ohio, Third Owner John Pieper, Canton, Ohio, Fourth Owner John Urban, North Canton, Ohio, Fifth Owner (Current) Franz Estereicher, Rochester Hills, MI. | Car history: |
| After purchasing the car in 63 it was modified to go racing. The following modifications were installed in the mid sixties: Heavy Duty Brakes, 7/8 rear wheel cylinders, metallic brake shoes, metallic drums (1963 J-65 drums) heavy duty brake springs, Heavy Duty Suspension: five leaf rear springs, upper traction bars, lower “Traction Master” tractions bars, heavy duty front stabilizer bar, rear stabilizer bar, heavy duty front and rear shocks (Later replace with Koni’s), exhaust: cut-outs, which is still has. Even today it has 90% of its original paint (small amount of cracking in several areas) along with most of its original components. Looking back it’s a true “time capsule” reflecting 1960’s racing heritage. No plans or need for restoration, historical preservation along with the enjoyment of driving is a great combination. |
