Car history:
My twin brother, Jack, and I purchased the car in Sacramento in 1964. I brought it home to South Bend, Indiana. Put it into storage when drafted into military in 1967. Brother Jack used it at Purdue University. I did not know that he had replaced the engine with an OLDER chevy engine.
In 1986 I started a frame off restoration was was informed about the wrong engine. I drove to Wisconsin and purchased a correct year 1954 engine for $4000 and had it installed.
Restoration over 3 year period included ss exhaust, rebuilt transmission and primer.
I ran out of money in 1990 and sold it to Jim and Pam Giese in Oregon. $17,000. OUCH
