Vitals Odometer 12165 Paint Gypsy Red VIN VE55S001591 Body Fiberglass Tires Firestone Wide Whitewalls Bias Ply Upholstery White with red piping and seat belts Headliner Older tan ragtop. Works fine Floor Red carpet with Corvette floor mats Instruments Radio does not work Steering Wheel No cracks Engine 265ci 195hp V8 Transmission Powerglide Automatic Battery 12 volt
One of 700 Corvettes produced for 1955, the first year with the V8 engine. Original California car with black plate used through 1995. Brought to New England in 1999 by collector who kept the car in careful storage with regular but limited driving in good weather only. Odometer reads 12165 but true mileage unknown. The car was recently recommissioned mechanically and it starts right up and drives strong and straight. Plenty of pep and tight handling with no known mechanical issues. Has wide white older bias ply tires that would benefit from upgrading. Older restoration. Presentable paint with a couple of paint cracks. Older ragtop and what looks like original carpet. Exterior chrome and trim appear original with no pitting or damage--just expected light wear. White upholstered seats with red piping in very good condition. Seat belts installed. Original radio does not work. Interior chrome and trim appear original and unrestored with light wear and aging. The white dash has been repainted and shows some age. Fuel gauge works intermittently. Overall very clean undercarriage. Trunk features jack stand, jack handle, side windows with carrying case, spare tire and wooden spare tire cover. |
