| Car history: |
| The person I bought the car from had started a factory restoration 3 years prior to his illness & was only able to finish the chassis and drive train before he passed away. It has been sitting collecting dust since & the pictures show this. It appears that he tore everything down & painted it black replacing all associated parts as he went. The body is complete & in good condition although it looks like a new front wrap was installed. The owner built a 350ci and put it in the chassis with its factory 2x4 intake. The two 4 barrel carburetors are fresh, have brass tags & are said to be original. They have never seen any fuel. The 350 engine is currently in the car with all the original 61 toppings including dual point distributor. As mentioned, engine is freshly built & remains un-tested. The transmission is a Borg-Warner 4 speed that I am told is the original. The rear axle is stock 61 Vette but I don’t know the ratio although I'm to believe it is 4.11. It also has a spare low mileage 283ci small block with all correct internals but it is disassembled. According to a friend, the 283 block is not correct for this car, although the internals appear to be. A new rebuild kit comes with the 283 *I am told the block will not need bored as the cylinders are very nice and will clean up with a simple honing allowing use of the stock high top pistons. *For the exterior: Currently in gray primer but from the factory, the car was originally (ivory white) as indicated in the trunk hand written from factory with a (red Interior) *A new, complete RED interior is included! Interior kit is still in the boxes as shown in one of the pictures & Comes with: New seat covers, new seat foams, new dash, new full deluxe door panels, with adjoining kick panels, grab bar, sun visers, new curved aluminum Corvette dash insert, white roadster top, arm rests, everything but carpet. Also new key locks, door handles, latches, levers, window crank assemblies, some rubber, etc. A NOS windshield, new freshly chromed front bumpers, decent & usable rear bumpers, new chrome front license bumper frame, new chrome rear license bumper frame, nice top fender chrome, NOS cove chrome, One new spear set & two sets of used cove spears that are usable, new center grille bar, new chrome grille surround, new R&L outer chrome grille surrounds, nice original silver aluminum grille, headlamp buckets w/trim rings, & all chrome trim & stainless needed to make it a complete package plus several duplicate pieces. Still has the factory cardboard heater box in good condition. All gauges, tachometer, speedometer, & clock have been restored. Has the original good & tested generator with tachometer drive & cable. Car also comes with all four factory steel wheels and nice full set of original hubcaps. Most all parts listed are in dry storage and at this time difficult to take pictures of so you will have to take my word on it. The wheels have been powder coated factory red and a new set of Coker tires with 2-3/4 inch white walls have been mounted and balanced on each of them. |
