This is the 29th Corvette manufactured in 1955 of the 700 built. This Corvette
has its complete original drive train as well as all of its original body parts and
trim. The color options offered for the Corvette in 1955 were Polo White,
Pennant Blue, Gypsy Red, Corvette Copper and Harvest Gold.

The 12-volt electrical system and V8 engine were first put in the 1955 Corvette.
All previous Corvettes, 1953 and 1954 were equipped with 6-cylinder engines,
cast-iron 2 speed automatic power glide transmissions and 6-volt electrical systems.

The 265 cubic inch V8 solid lifters and 4-barrel Carter Carburetor produced 195
horsepower and were quite quick for the era. The Gold V was added over the
Chevrolet side script to indicate the V8 engine.
