Car history:
I first drove the '61 in 1971 when it was offered for sale in Perth Western Australia after being trucked down from the USA base in our Nth West . Asking price was $2000,,way too much at that time for me!! 10years later I paid $4000 and drove it once as it was mechanically unsafe. In 2014 after having it in storage ,I am in the process of restoring it to factory specs and as a NCRS member from 1982 I am trying to bring it back to factory specs. The only non original item is the engine block ( which I'm told 'went bang ' at a drag meet.
I have all the engine numbers and am hoping to acquire a block to match the assembly date of my vette. Build date is around Sept 1960 .I would also appreciate any assistance in tracing the vettes history before the naval person had it shipped tp Australia when he served at Exmouth ,Western Australia.
