Vehicle Description
THIS IS ONE AWESOME VETTE!!!
I purchased this great classic from a guy in Florida in 2002. I insured it as a show car which limits the amount of miles that I could drive. Since I purchased it I've put less than 400 miles on it. The description below is the origional and says it all.............. A show-winning 1958 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster featured as Editor’s Pick in the November 2001 issue of Corvette Fever Magazine. This blue with black interior/white top show-driver, with only 3000 miles since restoration, has recently taken FIRST place in the 53-62 modified class at the America’s Corvette Club Corvette show sponsored annually by Lou Bachrodt Chevrolet - with over 200 Corvettes in attendance, this is the largest all Corvette JUDGED show in Florida. It has been a crowd pleaser at Eckler’s events and the NCRS regional events held in Orlando, FL. This Corvette has undergone a complete body off the frame meticulous restoration to modern standards while maintaining the look of the original. The fit of the doors and hood are near perfect having been block sanded and corrected before the very expensive Dupont Chromabase basecoat clear coat was professionally applied. The interior, installed over thermal barrier underlayment, is completely brand new with dash pad, door panels, sun visors (not an option for 58), carpet and seats provided by Al Knoch interiors. The dash instruments and steering wheel have been restored while all other interior item replaced with new items. ALL the chrome has been restored. The car is outfitted with a chromed Kenwood stereo that mounts in the original location to look "stock" playing through an upgraded center speaker. Reception via the power antenna is great. A CD changer (not included) can be controlled via the radio knobs. This ’58 has a soft top only (brand new of course) and the mounting points for an optional hardtop if new owner wishes to provide. The car is also outfitted with a Vintage Air - air conditioning system. The package with the car will include all restoration receipts, assembly manual binder, the service binder and owner’s manual, and a photograph album of the restoration work along with the clean title. We will even include the car cover used when stored in our garage. EVERYTHING on this car is new or has been restored to new condition. After you have inspected the rest, you will realize the level of QUALITY and value that this car represents. Our efforts has made this Corvette a very exciting vehicle to drive and very dependable as well.
Condition
ENGINE/TRANSMISSION
Equipped with a professionally rebuilt small-block 350/383 Stroker engine mated to a rebuilt original Borg-Warner T10 4-speed transmission with Hurst shifter. The engine, estimated at 350 HP, includes a chromed Edelbrock Performer intake with a brand new Holley 4 barrel carburetor with vacuum secondaries and a Billet Specialties billet aluminum air cleaner and Mooneyes finned aluminum valve covers. Fuel is flowed through a brand new Holley 750 CFM fuel pump; all hard fuel lines are stainless steel with an inline pressure gauge. The power is transferred to a completely rebuilt 3.36 posi-traction differential for excellent street manners and fuel mileage. Additionally, the car is equipped with a modern Corvette clutch, making it very comfortable to drive. Other engine goodies include: a 100 amp alternator, electronic ignition with an MSD 6A box, and ceramic-coated Hooker Headers with custom manufactured 3" to 2" aluminized pipes with Turbo Mufflers. The engine is kept cool with a Griffin aluminum radiator with overflow tank and electric cooling fan coupled with an Edelbrock Victor Jr. high-efficiency water pump. SUSPENSION/BRAKES This ’58 is equipped with the Jim Meyer’s Racing independent front-end suspension and Flaming River rack and pinion steering mated to an IDIDIT polished aluminum steering column. The column provides true blinker control and cancellation as well as hazard lights. An anti-sway bar was also provided. All front suspension parts were powder-coated for durability and show quality. The upgrade includes front disk brakes (all Chevy) with a dual master cylinder and adjustable HAL coil over shocks that provides you control of ride height. The rear drum pads have been replaced and the drums ceramic-coated for rust protection. The rear suspension was upgraded with polyurethane bushings and new gas shocks. All suspension hardware used was grade 8. Coker wide white radial tires are mounted on new rims from Vintage Wheels to get this car moving.
