Lot #665.3 - This Corvette was manufactured in March of 1955, the 164th car
of 700 total Corvettes produced for the model year. It is finished in its original
Pennant Blue and is one of just 45 cars finished in that color for 1955.
Desirable first year of V8 Corvette production, the final year of the original body
style and the second lowest ever production year total. The car has been in the
well known collection of Carl D. Barnes for the last 25 years and presents in
pristine condition throughout with a well preserved light beige interior and
matching vinyl top and the original 265/195hp V8 with Powerglide transmission
that came with car. Options include directional signal, heater, AM signal seeking
radio, white wall tires, parking brake alarm, courtesy lights and windshield washers.
On a recent test drive, this Corvette performed flawlessly with smooth shifting
and strong and eager V8 power. This matching number classic American roadster
is a wonderfully presented example of one of the rarest of all Corvettes and
would be a great addition to event the most pedigreed sports car collection.
