History: In 1957 one of our neighbors decided to surprise his daughter for her high school graduation by purchasing a brand new Corvette from Shea Chevrolet in Hackensack, NJ. His daughter surprised her father by eloping with the town "bad boy." Dad didn't approve, and the car remained in his garage. By May of 1959 the car had been driven only 200 miles, when it was put out on the front lawn with a "For Sale" sign on it. My father saw the sign and ran to the door to be the first bidder. My dad presented the car to my mom for their wedding anniversary. It was her's ever since. Both Mom and Dad have since passed away, and it's time to go to a new owner for another special occasion.
