Car history:
1958 Corvette convertible with a charcoal exterior and a charcoal interior with a silver cove, it is a radio delete, soft top delete, two owner car. The car was purchased from the original owner in the early seventies and completely disassembled in the early eighties. The engine, trans, interior, moldings, trim, and bumpers where all removed for a complete restoration. The car and the parts where put in storage until I purchased the car last month with the intentions to sell with all the used and NOS parts(still in GM packaging) from years of restoring 58's. The engine is a non-matching number 283 out of a early sixties Chevrolet. The bell housing is original and the T-10 four speed trans has been rebuilt and restored it has the correct date for the car. The carberator is a Carter and has been taken apart, it has no tag and is just sitting on the motor and needs to be rebuilt. The original generator has been rebuilt and restored. The bumpers are pitted but are good cores for rechroming. Some trim pieces are dented or bent but are all there. The interior has missing parts: door panels, rugs, dash pad, radio delete plate, kick panels, the (4) lower gages on the instrument pod, and the wiper, ignition and headlight switches. The seats are torn and need recovering. The seat frames and tracks are there, one side has been restored. The hard top was stolen from the original owner and a used one was purchased in the eighties and is in great shape. The hard top is dated correct @ 12/57. Also, the soft top lid has only (3) nuts for the bolts on the hard top brackets. There are no latches for the soft top and there is a white letter "D" on the lower soft top brackets inside the car. All the glass is good except the windshield by the post. I chemically stripped the body to see what kind of shape it was in, the only thing I saw was minor body work on the left rear and side quarter by the bumper, the left door, and a crack by the front left corner under the bumper. The car also has small stress cracks, here and there, as all of them do. A radio was installed in the car and a small hole was drilled in the top right rear fender for an antenna. There is no hole in the left rear quarter where the original hole would be. The washboard hood and trunk with original straps are in great shape and are original for this car. The frame has surface rust but is solid and should be sand blasted to be brought back to its original condition. I reassembled most of the parts back on the car for shipping purposes. I have described this car in full detail. Feel free to email me if you have any additional questions. The car is located at a restoration shop in Nutley, NJ.
The extra USED parts are as follows: (1) trunk lid, (1) right side door, (1) front panel w/bonding strips and brackets intact, (4) brake drums, (1) gage pod w/lower brace, (1) steering colunm w/box, L&R front lower shields, (3) pce fan shroud, assortment of brackets, seatbelts, latches, and trim pcs., 58 dual quad manifold PT#3739653, 58 dual point dist. Some of these parts are for this car. These are NOS parts that are not in the original packaging but are new: chrome (4 pc) front license plate brackets consisting of (2) sides, (1) center, (1) lower, and(1) original glass fuel filter for dual quad manifold. This car has a beautiful body and would make a great body off, ground up restoration project. Thank you!
