475 Original Miles

327/340 HP 4-Speed Numbers Matching

This beautiful 1962 Roman Red Two-Top Convertible is a true time capsule and the Ultimate Investment Vehicle. With only 475 Actual Miles, virtually every component is original. Maintenance items such as belts, hoses, filters and tires are the only things that have been changed. The car is in remarkable operating condition and has been exercised 20-30 miles per year since 1992. It is a true 327/340 HP Corvette with the Close-Ratio Borg Warner 4-Speed.

The car was purchased by my neighbor, Don S., from an estate sale of the original owner. He was a Chevrolet Dealer from Missouri who ordered and cherished this ‘62 327/340 HP Corvette, a ‘63 Split Window Corvette and a’67 427 Corvette. Don bought the 1962 Corvette with 14 Actual Miles in 1992. He has shown the car at several Regional Corvette Shows and has numerous trophies and Best of Shows. The most significant of which was a “1st Place Golden Vette Award” from the Corvette Club of America in 1994.

The car comes complete with the auxiliary hard-top, tar-top battery and original shocks. The paint is flawless. The floors, chrome and fiberglass are gorgeous. The only question we have on the car is that the paint is almost “too nice”. Don has consulted with several judges and no one has been able to tell us if it is or isn’t original. I found no evidence of new paint.

I have decoded some of the numbers and while I didn’t take anything apart (e.g. valve covers to check head numbers) we’re confident everything is original as Don has had the car judged several times by N.C.R.S. and Bloomington Judges.
