Car history:

Lot #807.1 - One of the rarest options offered in the beginnings of Corvette
racing was RPO 684 that was either an air box or forced-air ducting with big
brake, special steering and heavy suspension. These options could be ordered
with the car or bought over the GM counter at a very limited supply. This car
has been upgraded with a 4-speed and vintage correct big brake and heavy
suspension and steering options that only a few were able to obtain. The big
brake suspension and steering on this car has the correct finned drums with
the correct screened backing plates with mounting holes for the air scoops or
elephant ears, complete with new 8-coil front springs and 11/16 sway bar and
quick steering adapter. To finish off what Chevrolet knew would be one of their
best racing performers was the famed 283/283hp Rochester fuel-injected engines.
This car has a correct casting number block, cast later than the car was built,
correct casting number and casting date-coded heads, correct plenum or dog
house, correct fuel and air meter. To finalize Chevrolets race ready look GM
combined the 5.5x15 inch wheels painted silver when the beige interior was
selected with the small hubcaps and blackwall tires.
