1955 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster Description
Vehicle Overview
1955 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible Roadster V8 Harvest Gold / Green 283 V8 (2) Speed Power glide A/T Restored
Chevrolet Corvette Convertible Roadster
Celebrity Cars is proud to offer this very rare 1955 Convertible V8 Corvette.
Most importantly, before a complete description, this is a frame up restored car.
It has a 1957 283 V8 engine- with the correct Carter 4 bbl. carburetor and
believed to have the original 2 speed power glide transmission and the standard
3.55:1 axle ratio. The Harvest Gold color is a repaint, the correct color for the
car. It has the yellow vinyl interior as well as the dark green convertible top
which is 'new'.
-Total number of Corvettes made in 1955 is 700.
-The Harvest Gold color of this car is one of only 120 made and today it is
extremely difficult to find.
This car is a 2 owner car.
This 1955 Corvette VE55S001237 is a very complete, well restored vehicle and
has had a professional appraisal done by Corvette Guru Roy Sinor. His FULL
report is available. Only eleven (11) of these cars have sold in the past few years
and this particular Harvest Gold car is said to be, one of the finest ever seen.

3 1/2 years ago this car was purchased from its original owner. When found,
the car had been in a garage since the early '80s and had been painted a 'blue'
color. Most of the car had been disassembled and stored in boxes.

The current owner and his wife did most of the resurrecting of this incredible
Corvette. The 21,761 miles on the odometer are original to the car and was not
changed during the restoration of this car.

Although not EVERY piece of this car is original, the couple used the 1953-1955
Corvette Assembly Instruction Manual distributed by the National Corvette
Restorers Society (NCRS). This particular manual is a copy of THE ORIGINAL
MANUAL that THE ASSEMBLY LINE WORKERS USED at GM to build these cars!
Yes, THIS manual.

To make this story even more exciting, did I mention that the couple who bought
this car 3 years ago to restore are 79 years old?! (76 when the project started!)

Back in 1955, the current owner arrived from Italy to America for the first time.
At the age of 17 1/2, while walking the streets of Brooklyn, NY, he passed the
showroom window of his local Chevrolet Dealership. A Harvest Gold '55 sat staring
at him with the $3000.00 price tag. He was determined from that moment on
that he would own that car one day. 60 plus years later, here we are and here is the car.
