Car history:
This is a 1958 GM Show Car that was used in the 58 Worlds Fair. The car was purchased by Henry J. Uchwat in 1959, who was employed at the Ternstedt division of General Motors from the Styling Dept at the GM Tech Center in Warren MI.
The car was painted with a 1957 Cadillac green that was never offered that year. The original interior was a two toned white and green leather. The door panels have the original leather handles. Options on the car are heater, radio, windshield washer, sun shades, power windows, power convertible top, heavy duty brakes and susp, parking brake alarm, courtsey lights and aux hard top. All the gauges have a matching green background (not black) and Styling put in air auctuated retractable seat belts that where never offerd. They also manufacurted a retractable glove box in between the seats and also a leather glove box at the foot of the pasenger seat next to the sidewall. The original engine was a 283/230 hp with a 2 speed power glide trans. The second owner replaced it with a 62 327 with dual quads and a 4 spd trans. I am the 4th owner of the car and have had it since 1981. The car has been garage kept all these years and I have put less than 7000 miles on the car. Since my ownership I have rewired the car, repainted and completley detailed the engine compartment out. I have singed affidavits from three of the four previous owners of the history of the car. I also have a color photo and some black and whites of the car from the second owner from around 1960. If you have and questions please feel free to call me. Mark 248-935-0391
