For sale via e-Bay:
After ten years of wanting to restore it to its original brilliance, I have finally accepted the fact that I will never get around to it. Therefore, I have decided to let her go. I have been collecting many various parts that I know I would need when the day would come to start the restoration. The car is tucked back in my garage and has always been inside storage for the last 25 years. It does run but has not been started in many years. I did fog the cylinders some years ago. I bought this car from my dad’s estate after his passing in 1994. He had bought it in the late 70’s early 80’s from a guy in New Mexico. The car currently has, I believe a 327ci. I have bought a complete 265 engine with transmission for this car plus a correct bare block for a 55 Corvette. The new owner can have choice of which engine they want with the car, the 327 or the correct 265. I have the correct 55 Corvette wheels. All of the stainless steel trim and chrome. (If you do not see it on the car, I have it.) Some chrome has been re-chromed and is ready to go. If you are a serious car buff, this is the car to have. This being the 50th year for the 55 these cars have taken off in value since Chevrolet did there big 50th blow out in 2003. When Restored this car will bring a strong mid 100K. I found another 55 in a magazine, un-restored like mine and the asking price was $75,000. My reserve is way, way lower than that. It will not take long to restore this since I have located and bought most of the items the car needed. Including new red interior, door panels black convertible top canvas, tan trim cloth, the exhaust manifolds are in the trunk. The convertible top frame is in there (I tried to show it in one of the pictures). The major items I have yet to buy for it are the side curtains and the steering wheel. I believe most everything else is there. Look at the pictures. Just remember, it has been sitting for a very long time and it is dusty. |
