Engine details: The car has a 283 cubic inch / 290 horsepower fuel injected engine that runs perfectly. Actually, it is a 305 cubic inch engine since the block was bored .155 inches, and .030 inch oversized Z-28 pistons were machined to give a pump gas friendly 9:1 compression ratio. The original bare block came with the car, and I completely restored the engine with the correct components. The FI unit and distributor were restored by Jerry Bramlett. An electric anti-siphon valve was added to the FI unit. Since the block was rusty and had been out of the car for a long time, it had to be decked in order to provide a surface that would insure proper sealing of the heads. However, the original numbers stamped on the engine pad can still be seen.
Other details: I bought the car as an older, body-on restoration with a non-original 230hp engine. The frame and underside of the body had been painted black. I stripped the bottom of the body and detailed the frame, suspension, steering components and engine compartment to resemble a body-off restoration. The forward 3/4's of the car's front-end had previously been replaced, and the paint has shrunk to the point that the repair splices are visible. The frame rear cross-member has been replaced. The car is solid and handles well. It is very dependable and I don't hesitate to drive it. The B-W 4 speed transmission is original to the car, but the rearend has been replaced. The soft top is blue. It has reproduction bias ply wide whitewall tires. It is car number 597 with the features that are unique to the early '58 cars.

Car history:
I purchased the car in 2006 from a gentleman in Missouri through a dealer in Annapolis, MD. He had owned it since 2001.

UPDATE: I sold the car in August 2013 to a gentleman from Oklahoma.
