My father put a high rise cam into it. |

| Car history: |
My father, Wes Bontrager owned this car from 02/22/1962 till 02/10/1965 when he lived and worked in Evanston IL while doing 1W service at the local hospital. After that was completed he stayed and found full time employment. While parked on the side of the street in front of their apartment, he pulled the OEM cam and installed a high rise cam. This car was painted a forest green with white bullet. I believe that green was not an OEM color for this year.
A group of young men from Haven / Yoder Kansas were placed in Evanston IL for their selective service / 1W program giving a year or more worth of their labor.
He purchased this car from Joe Jacobs Chevrolet in Wilmette IL for $2,595.00 He traded this car in at Humphry Chevrolet in Evanston IL for $1,685.05
I would be very grateful to anyone who could shed any light on where this car ended up, hopefully assuming that it is a survivor. Probably contact the site administrator to forward a message on to me. Thank you. Jim |
