Vehicle Description
This is a 1957 Chevrolet Corvette. It is an original fuel injected car. Numbers all match for the month of May which is when this car was manufactured acording to the VIN. VIN on body matches frame perfectly. Engine block has the correct numbers and letters for fuel injection and May of 1957. The transmission is a borg warner T10 4 speed manual from a later model Corvette. It is unknown whether this was an original 4 speed car. General Motors started puting them in the vettes mid year in 1957 so it could be an original 4 speed car. This Corvette is optioned with a heater, courtesey lights, wonder bar radio and parking brake warning light. It also has the correct wide white wall spare tire and the original jacking hardware in their proper storeage spaces. The soft top is white and it is in new condition. The windshield was replaced with a correct date coded windshield and there are no cracks in any of the glass.
Vehicle Condition
This Corvette is awsome, plain and simple. It has won many shows and stops trafic from all the lookers. The restoration was done in the early eighties and has held up extremely well. Only 7462 miles have been put on the car since then. There are a few minor cracks in the paint finish but they are very small and are not seen by most people. As you can see from the pictures this car shines! The under side is just as clean as the top side. Mechanicaly the old Vette runs like new. The fuel injection runs flawlessly and it sounds mean. The engine has been gone through with hardened seats for unleaded fuel and a hydrolic cam for smoother running. The car should not be run with anything but the highest octane fuel available. The mechanical injection requires that the car be driven regularly. If these cars sit too long the fuel will tarnish the diaphrams and could cause a malfunction. This was not a problem for me since oddly enough I love to drive the car. I'm ready to let this investment go since my interests have turned to my growing family.
