| Engine details: |
I have pulled, and saved the original motor, FI, Trans, clutch, shifter, and bell housing. I now have a 1965 327/375hp motor punched 80 over with a 3/4 cam. Edelbrock TM-1 Tarantula manifold, with a Holley 780 double pumper modified carb. MSD Ignition. Lakewood scatter shield/block plate, Hays Pro clutch, Hurst shifter. |

Information on the car I provided is as the car is now. I think it was originally Frost Blue. When I first bought it in 1978 there was some of that color in the interior by the glove box, and the armrest were turquoise under the black covers they had on them. |

| Car history: |
| I bought this car out of a body shop In North Hollywood California in May of 1978. I was told the original owner could not pay the bill. They also told me this car made several trips to their shop, and the owner never had the funds to put it back together completely. The car had back bumpers that were cut to accommodate the large flares over the large rear wheels. Missing stainless side trim, original radio and heater. And, get this the generator bracket was a 2X4 with duct tape. I kid you not, I did not believe it either. It was also 3 colors of maroon, and gray primer. It did have the original hard top, engine, and FI. So, I had them knock off the flares fix the wheel wells, laid down the 2,250.00 due on the bill, and drove it home. Over the years I bought those new rear bumpers, along with other items. I did the interior myself, not to hard I have done some before. I replaced the soft top myself which I do not recommend doing alone. It did come out nice after 2 weeks on and off at it. I bartered the paint job, REAL NICE. The original motor with the FI was not quick enough for me. So I built the motor that is in it now. Swapped the clutch, trans, and bell housing. Much better. I kept the originals. I than had a house fire, and lost 2 of my other cars, A 1927 Dodge Brothers, my parade car, and a 1966 fully restored Mustang. I salvaged my Vette for all the right reasons we all know. It was on the far side of the shop, the heat and flams did not get that bad there. The body did not get distorted. The car cover melted onto the body. The top burned and destroyed the interior. All the chrome and trim burned or tarnished. I lived in a hotel for a year while they rebuilt my home. I sent my car to a body shop where I had to pull it out due to poor workmanship. The 2nd shop also latter proved problematic. I did finally get it done, and back to my newly rebuilt home. I would not wish that experience on anyone. Before the fire I would drive it almost every day anywhere, any time. Now it is usually only on Sundays and not often. This car has never seen rain since I have owned it. |
