| Car history: |
*NUMBERS MATCHING 283 V-8 with the rare 270 hp dual 4-barrel carb option (1 of 978 produced) and OEM high lift Duntov camshaft. The car sounds fantastic!
*Professionally rebuilt motor approx. 9 years ago by one of top race engine builders in Houston; estimated less than 2000 adult-only driven miles driven since rebuild. Driven sparingly. Most jaunts were 10 miles or less, just enough to keep things lubricated.
*Replaced front wiring harness during the time of engine rebuild
*4-speed transmission
*Brand new Al Knoch soft top (white) and new black soft top frame (in box); at a cost of $2200.00
*Original hardtop included, which will need full restoration
*Brakes completely rebuilt within last 6 months to include newly rebuilt master cylinder, new wheel cylinders, brake pads, rear brake line and hardware.
*Newly rebuilt fuel pump with correct casting numbers
*Extra set of (4) radial tires in addition to the bias-ply wide whitewalls shown
*Total original miles unknown; speedometer and tachometer not hooked when my father bought it approx. 9 years ago, but I had to put a number in as Ebay required it. Again - estimated mileage since rebuild are less than 2000 miles.
This car is one of a small percentage of numbers matching, factory high-horsepower 1958 Corvettes left out there. Most have had engines blown, swapped out, were totaled, etc. over the last 48 years. This one has been fortunate enough to survive intact.
