BEAUTIFUL 1958 CANDYAPPLE 2 TOPPER CORVETTE,ORIGINAL 4 SPEED T-10
THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL 1958 CORVETTE THAT HAS A SOFT TOP AND A HARDTOP.IT IS A VERY ORIGINAL CORVETTE. IT HAS ALOT OF THE ORIGINAL COMPONENTS WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE ENGINE. IT WAS ORIGINALLY A 245/283 DUAL QUAD ENGINE. IT WAS CHANGED OUT MANY YEARS AGO. I PURCHASED THIS CORVETTE WITH EVERY INTENTION OF MAKING IT A PERFECT CAR, HOWEVER A REAL ESTATE OPPORTUNITY HERE IN FLORIDA HAS COME MY WAY AND THE CAR MUST GO.

HERE'S WHAT I KNOW ABOUT THE CAR.

THE LAST OWNER HAS OWNED IT SINCE 1976. IT HAD APPROX. 3 OWNERS BEFORE THAT. I BELIEVE IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN AN OHIO CAR. THIS CAR HAS ALWAYS BEEN GARAGED SINCE NEW. THE FRAME IS RUST FREE! THE BODY LOOKS STRAIGHT. THE ONLY EXCEPTION WOULD BE ABOVE THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT TIRE WHERE THEY ALWAYS SEEM TO SHOW STRESS AT THAT BODY SEAM. IT WAS REPAIRED BUT SEEMED TO RE-APPEAR WITH AGE. THE ENGINE IS A 327 OUT OF A 1968 CAMARO.CASTING # 3914678 E-10-8 VO518 EE.
THE TRANSMISSION IS THE ORIGINAL # T-10-1 WITH THE ORIGINAL ALUMINUM TAILSHAFT T-10-1 7A , 10-23-57 THE SHIFTER WAS CHANGED OUT FOR A HURST.

AS ALWAYS THE TRUNK SPEARS WERE REMOVED BEFORE THE LAST OWNER. NOT SURE WHY? I WAS TOLD THAT ONE OF THE EARLIER OWNERS DIDN'T LIKE THE APPEARANCE OF THEM.
ALL LIGHTS AND WIPERS WORK.
THE PAINT AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE PICTURES IS REALLY NICE! AN 8 OUT OF 10! IT WAS RE-PAINTED APPROX. 8-10 YEARS AGO. SHE STILL WINS TROPHIES AT CAR SHOWS! THE INTERIOR WAS ALSO REDONE. DASH ,SEATS,CARPET AND DOOR PANELS WERE ALL REPLACED.
THE CAR RUNS GREAT, OR AS GREAT AS THEY ALL RUN! STARTS RIGHT UP AND GETS UP AND GOES. IT HAS THE TYPICAL CHEVY PUFF OF BLUE SMOKE UPON STARTING TILL WARMED UP.IT HAS HAD THE CRAGAR SS MAGS ON IT SINCE AT LEAST 1976. HAS NEW DAYTONA TIRES. THE CAR WAS REPAINTED 3 TIMES. I BELIEVE THE ORIGINAL COLOR MIGHT BE WHITE, THEN PAINTED ROMAN RED, AND NOW CANDYAPPLE. THE LAST OWNER BELIEVES THE ORIGINAL COLOR WAS RED.
ALL THE CHROME WAS TRIPLE DIPPED AND IS IN REAL NICE CONDITION. THIS VETTE IS A REAL NICE DRIVER AND WINNER AT ANY LOCAL CAR SHOWS.
I KNOW IT'S NOT A PERFECT FRAME OFF CONCOURSE ALL NUMBERS MATCHING CAR. I KNOW THAT IT HAS A HURST SHIFTER, 57 REAR EMBLEM, DIFFERENT WHEELS AND TIRES, AND THE SEATS WERE DONE OVER IN 1960 STYLE BECAUSE THE OWNER DIDN'T LIKE THE PEBBLE GRAIN SEATS, THE ENTIRE COVE IS NOT ALL WHITE, AND THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT HAS SOME CHROME DRESS UP PARTS. I JUST WANT TO SAVE YOU ALL THE TIME FROM EMAILING ME ABOUT THESE THINGS. THESE ARE THE THINGS I WAS GOING TO CHANGE IF I WERE GOING TO KEEP IT.
IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR THE PERFECT 58 VETTE, I'D HAVE TO TELL YOU TO PASS ON THIS ONE. HOWEVER, IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A REAL NICE DRIVER THAT STILL HAS ALOT OF ORIGINALLITY TO IT, LOOKS GREAT, DRIVES GREAT, HAS TWO TOPS (THE SOFT TOP IS NEW (WHITE ) IN THE BOX AND HAS TO BE INSTALLED) (THE HARD TOP IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION INSIDE AND OUT AND STILL HAS CLEAR ORIGINAL DATED PLEXIGLASS) , THAN THIS IS FOR YOU!
I SEE IN HEMMINGS AND ON THE INTERNET THAT YOU CAN BUY THE ORIGINAL NUMBER BLOCK( WITH CORRECT DATES) , HEADS ,INTAKE AND CARB FOR AROUND $1000-$1200. THEN THIS CAR WOULD BE AN ALL NUMBERS MATCH.
