Car history:
Car has been pictured on the front or back covers and/or inside of at least 41 books published between 1987 and 2010, all authored by the Auto Editors of Consumer Guide. Pictures of the car are in the June 1991 and January 1996 (Corvette special) issues of Collectible Automobile magazine. An article about the car is in the Winter 2014 issue of The Corvette Restorer (NCRS). It was also pictured with its then owner in an article on the front page of the Wall Street Journal in 1995. Pictures of the car are on both sides of a collectible '57 Corvette specifications sheet (with attached, encapsulated, embroidered Corvette patch) by Willabee & Ward (part of a collection of 50 of these sheets commemorating Corvette's 50th anniversary). The car is also pictured on a Hamilton Mint collector plate, as well as two Enesco collector plates, a mug, a music box, and a wall plaque, all bearing an image of the car painted from a photograph of it by well-known automotive artist Marc LaCourciere, who also sells art prints of the painting. The car is also briefly seen in a 2006 episode of the Discovery Channel TV program Overhaulin', in which Chip Foose is talking with the wife of the owner of a '57 Corvette being restored; the book Chevrolet Chronicle--A Pictorial History from 1904, is open on Chip's design table and pictures of this car are visible. Car was last restored in the mid-1980's and remains in excellent condition.

Car was manufactured on Nov. 5, 1956 (Monday), the 3rd day of regular production of fuel-injected Corvettes, which began on Nov. 1 (Thursday of a 5-day work week). This car is likely among the first ten or so fuel-injected Corvettes.
