Engine details: ZZ3 crate motor

Car history:
1958 Chevrolet Corvette that was Fuel Injected. A prior owner removed the engine and fitted it with an aluminum head ZZ3 crate engine. This car retains most of the original features, but the performance and driveability are current.

The engine makes this car fast and reliable. The four speed transmission is a Muncie, with the correct 1958 shifter with NO REVERSE LOCKOUT.

The interior has the original gauge cluster, including RARE 8000 RPM Tachometer with no rev counter. The steering wheel is the original BAKELITE, not reproduction moulded plastic. It also has the correct horn button with white legends. The seats and dash pad are correct Chatham Pebble Grain, and the doors have the correct metal trim, handles and reflectors. The carpet is Grosse Point, and the convertible top bows, pads and vinyl cover are excellent.

Missing are the jack, jack handle and lug wrench. The paint is the correct charcoal color, repainted many years ago.

The engine now has an alternator, and the tachometer was converted to operate as electrical, instead of the mechanical generator driven type. The same for the windshield wipers; the original wiper motor was replaced with a modern one under dash. Clock and cigar lighter work perfectly.

The chassis is excellent original, with excellent rear crossmember. No visible damage anywhere.
