Car history:
This example is a true time capsule, with 35,xxx 3-owner all original garage-stored miles. It runs strong, utilizing the 283ci. Optioned with the 2-speed automatic transmission, smooth-shifting. Exterior paint is a great finish! And in great condition, especially for a near 50-year-old car!! Originally Paint code 500A (Charcoal) with the Tuxedo Black offset, refinished in 1972 in code 502A blue-grey [see explanation below] over a code 490A charcoal interior that is still all-original in the rare pebble grain and vinyl.
This exterior was refinished only once and looks marvelous.
The interior is amazing. The carpet, seats, door panels, dash pad, kick panels, top tabs, are original down to the stitching in the seats. This car is right.
And yes, I’ll say again, those miles are all correct and true. Less than 35,100 totally originally, numbers-matching. One good reason for this, among others, is the rarity of the way this car was optioned.
Bottom line – 95% original to 1958 standards, 35k original miles, magnificent colors, rare options, mechanically very true and solid. A numbers-matching, nearly-untouched jewel. Find another one!! Price is $89,900. Has been shown regularly at the annual Hilton Head Island Concours D’Elegance, but traveled no more than that.
