| Car history: |
| The car came to Okla from CA in 68. I bought it in 73. The original engine and tranny were long gone. I did a full frame off REBUILD (not restoration) in 74-5. EVERYTHING was given the same attention as would be done to a full resortation, but the car was personalized rather than perfectly restored (Imron on the frame and many parts were chrome plated). The installed 327 was stroked to 350 in 77 then replaced with a SB400 in 99. An FI unit, which had been modified in the early 60s by Bill Thomas, was installed in 85 and the underside of the hood was autographed by Dale Earnhardt in 93. According to documentation provided by a St Louis employee (Jack Knudsen) in 1981 at the NCRS nationals, the car was built on Sept 7, 1956. The car is driven and abused frequently. |
