For sale via e-Bay:
Up for bids is this BEAUTIFUL ROMAN RED (orig. color)1962 Chevy Corvette. This is an NICE Example of a low mileage car that has been fully restored to todays standards of driveability.
We started off by giving to life to an original 1962 327/340 horse engine (870 block, 461X heads). We fully built this engine to o.e. specs using the best of parts( Clevite, Sealed power, Fel pro, etc.)We then added a pair of vintage Sanderson Headers and modern style plug wire dividers. The transmission is an original 1962 model Powerglide that has been fully built using TCI Components and is mated up to TCI Coverter(3000 stall). (this can easily be changed to a four speed for around $1,000.00) we built it with an automatic to appeal to the ladies too!!!! The rearend is an original 1962 posi unit (4.11 GM gear to conpensate for the big tire)that has been altered to fit the big Mickey Thompsons you see.
As for the interior it is has been restored as it was in 1962, with all new interior from ZIP Products(VERY Reputable company)The Dash is a new unit purchased from the Knoxville TN Corvette Expo, all gauges work properly,( original was missing when we started) Like new original steering wheel, and we have added a modern am/fm cassette radio that we had specially built to fit this car(kenwood audio) and is heater deleted. We have also added a professional 4 pt. Rollbar to this car(just in case!) All of the glass in this car is nice, with the excteption of the rear glass that has a small crack around the lower right hand mounting bracket. We had decided to change this but we were informed that this would hurt the value of the caras it is original and dated.
Now for the modern touches......First off as you can see we have accented this car with a Gasser era look by adding 15x7 Weld draglites for the front (P225/70-15 Radials) and 15x15 inch Weld draglites with 31x16.5-15 Mickey Thompson Sportsman tires for the rear. By now you are wondering if this car was butchered up to fit the Mickeys?? The answer is no. The inner fenders have merely been professionally moved inward. This car is stopped by means of Wilwood Disk brakes. The fuel for this car is stored in a 15 gallon HARWOOD Fuel cell that is mounted in the trunk area and fitted with a sending unit that works correctly in conjunction with the original fuel gauge. The paint on this car is 8 Years old and has never seen any weather(kept indoors, of course) |
