Engine details: 1955 "261" truck block bored 60mm over. Non-original head ported and polished. Domed pistions with a comression ratio of 10:5 to 1. Oil passages changed and a Chrsyler full flow oil filter installed. Cam shaft reground using Duntov V-8 specs. 6 volt Motorola alternator. Basically, think a McGurk Engineering approach to hopping up a 6 banger. The setup should generate about 220hp!

Car history:
David Elie purchased the car in July 1957 for $1800. David owned the car from 1957 to 2007, and drove the heck out of the car. The car might be the highest mileage 1953 - the car currently has 317k miles on it (with more to come). David upgraded the car for performance on an on-going basis.

David was an avid skier - and a former VP of the US Ski Association. David put many of the 317k miles on the car in winter driving - the 53 was David's ski car from 1957 to 1967. Amazingly, notwithstanding the mileage and winter condition driving, the body is unhit.

David's wife gave me the complete history of the car (pictures, docs, etc). I built a website showing all of the history. The best piece of history is a 3 page letter thant David sent to Corvette News in 1969, where David describes all of the changes he made to the car.
