Car history:
In April of 1964, I bought # 599 and used it as a daily driver for the about the next 20 years. I would leave the car where I worked, in shopping malls and even Newark Airport when on business trips. I did not have to worry about it until the last few years in the eighties. About that time, I would start getting notes left on the windshield asking if I was interested in selling the car. I decided it was getting too valuable to be leaving it around unwatched, so I bought another car for work and used the Vette only on weekends and pleasure drives from then on.

I had the car repainted in 1969 since it was starting to develop a few stress cracks in the paint. It was originally Venetian Red with red coves but I had it repainted red with white coves. Right now its painted in black suede (black primer). I would like to bring it back to the original red/red.

Just about everything has been replaced or rebuilt since 1964. I replaced the engine with a 58 block in the early seventies. Since I used it as a driver I did not have time to rebuild the original block so I just bought a rebuilt block and put it in over one weekend. I sold the 57 block since I did not have room to store it. I have since realized that was a mistake.

The Vette currently has a 4 speed, 336 posi rear, Crane cam, and roller rockers. I have a Pertronixs distributor but I have not installed it yet. Interior has been redone and a new white soft top installed last year.
